I'm headed to Puerto Vallarta May 23 for a week. I've narrowed my
choices to either the Buena Ventura Hotel for $490 or the Blue Bay
Club for $639 (all inclusive)

Any Thoughts on either hotel? Is the extra $150 for meals, drinks,
and activities worth it?

We are going with another couple that is staying in a downtown condo.
What are the hotel policies for the other couple to come and spend
time on the beach at our hotel?

Thanks in advance for any information that you can offer!

Blue Bay is definitely the nicer place and IMO it's worth the extra.
(that only works out to slightly more that $20 per day and you would
easily spend more on your own)

Most places allow you to have guests. If you can get the phone number
from your travel agent for the Blue Bay directly, you may want to call &
check to make sure (or have your travel agent find out...that's what
they're there for). Blue Bay has a great beach, by the way.

It may be worth it, I don't know, but I do know that PV is so beautiful and fun
and has so many great places to eat, etc. it would be a shame to just stay at
the hotel all week and not venture out. Take that into consideration when
booking! Cool

If the Blue Bay Club is the one I'm thinking of, it's about 100 miles
south of P.V. on it's own beautiful bay. But you'll be stuck there
and certainly won't be able to meet your friends in P.V.
Check out the location, just to be sure.

Blue Bay, Puerto Vallarta, is less than 7 miles south of town and is an
easy taxi or bus ride away.

Hi. We stayed at the Buenaventura in November. It's not a GREAT hotel,
but it's adequate. The beach and pool areas are open to anyone, so
you're friends would be welcome. There's a really nice rooftop jacuzzi
and exercise area on top of the bar, overlooking the bay. Best of all,
it's within walking distance of downtown - or a cheap bus ride or taxi
ride. I don't know the Blue Bay Club, but personally I'd rather have the
adventure of a non-all-inclusive. Please let me know if you want any
other details about the Buenaventura.

Are you talking about Blue Bay Village 1hour north of Manzinillo. If
you are it is a great moderate resort. The bay is totally secluded and
there is a restaurant and the end of the bay that is open until 5 am.
But it is not a reasonable commute to P.V. You stay closer
