Travel to Manzanillo, Mexico is becoming more and more popular. Manzanillo travel opinions from a few years ago talked about a drab industrial town but now, the talk is about a Pacific Ocean resort comparable with Huatulco or Puerto Vall..

Buena Ventura or Blue Bay Club? Options

I'm headed to Puerto Vallarta May 23 for a week. I've narrowed my
choices to either the Buena Ventura Hotel for $490 or the Blue Bay
Club for $639 (all inclusive)

Any Thoughts on either hotel? Is the extra $150 for meals, drinks,
and activities worth it?

Does anyone have any info on the Blue Bay Village resort in Papagayo Bay on
the Nicoya peninsular? It looks very nice in the brochure, but it seems a
little isolated. Does anyone have any info on private or public
transportation available at this hotel? There will probably be tours

Ahem. I know the area but am not familiar with Blue Bay having
been inside the wall past the security guard only once. It is an
exclusive resort and not my kind of Mxico. We move in different
circles. I believe that there were two resorts which combined. The
other was Fiesta American..

This is an interesting thread talking about the adult vs children activities at Blue Bay. This is an older, and interesting resort, and you have to see if it fits what you are looking for!

Pay special attention to the trimaran run to Isla Mujeres, highly recommended (but shooort).
